Right now you have a couple of options: install new ski bottoms and consider the ski bottoms like carbide runners (as replaceable wear items), or install a different set of skis. Nor do they intend on replacing the skis, as they are “wear itemsâ€. I’ve asked Ski-Doo about this, and they indicated while they are aware of this high-wear area there were no plans to change the ski mold or anything like that. Part : 550-114 Yours needs 2 Only 13. It is quite thin, and while low snow will make it wear out quicker, it wears out quicker than any other ski design we’re currently using. All owners of 2006 Ski-Doos fitted with these skis should inspect this area of the ski, right in front of the outer carbide runner. I know exactly what you’re talking about, as many of us experienced this exact scenario. My dealer tells me the skis are worn out due to the low snow conditions of last year, and while that accelerated the wear, the thin section I’m talking about is bogus. This thin section wears out quicker than it should, and when it does, the thicker (angled) part just behind it digs into the snow. Right in front of the outer carbide runner on each ski, there is a very thin area of plastic. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the performance of the skis light steering and nimble handling, but their durability totally stinks. I love the sled, it is everything you told me it would be, with the exception of the skis. The SnowStudsTM Sniper Double Down Series Carbide Runner provides a super aggressive cut like no other double runner for your sled! Eliminate ice-damming with ″point and go″ steering, plus longer wear life.I purchased my first Ski-Doo this past season, a 2006 MX Z Adrenaline 600 H.O.
